We are LIAR the Label, an Australian Eco label based in Byron Bay. Running since 2014, LIAR is a creative work in progress by ethical advocate and designer Nisha Abey.
We live a pretty minimal lifestyle ourselves, not too many adornments, nothing too extravagant. We created LIAR the Label as a way to express our creativity in the industry we know and promote minimal, timeless quality style. Combining our skills and knowledge in the fashion industry We also created LIAR to get our voice heard and become a small factor in making ethical and sustainable fashion cool and on trend in order to change the way it is perceived.
We donate 10% of our profits to Marine Conservation from our 1st collection ‘EXOSKELETON'. Exoskeleton was our start up and the birth of LIAR. We found our drive to start Liar the Label through our travels to Sri Lanka. This stunning country is where we had our first encounter with the problems facing turtle conservation. Becoming friends with a local turtle sanctuary in Kosgoda we started to develop our ideas and passion towards changing our work habits to make a "greener" future. We have grown since our first collection and the future now is to partner with more local and global environmental organisations to help tackle environmental issues and to keep our products affordable for you, our customers.
We do what we love to do and you get a great unique product that's affordable and better still, you know its been made with love by someone who is sustainable in its practices.
We are buzzing to the brim with new ideas and creations. We want to change the way future fashion and lifestyle can be ethical, last longer with quality sourced sustainable fabrics and that does not wreck our planet.
LIAR THE LABEL is our first project, redefining Swim and Activewear basics in a sustainable way and making them rad for anyone to wear.
We manufacture in Australia as we feel it is important not to lose a vital skill and industry locally. We also think it is important to reduce our carbon footprint where we can.
We make our Swim and Active collections from the best Recycled Polyester. The yarn is made from single use recycled plastic bottles and fishing nets, and then re-spun and finished into an amazing bi-stretch fabric that feels and fits amazing on.
We reckon this is one of the many new ways in manufactured clothing. We want to wipe out the need for customers buying low quality and unethically made clothing and make sustainable fashion affordable and long-lasting. We source research and develop new styles without creating waste.
- We make classic styles that do not date.
- Source sustainable, organic, recycled fabrics, trims and new technology.
- Create innovative ideas and practice's.
- Small print runs
- Less Waste = Way better karma for the planet.
Love what we do?
